Some people thought there was only a small chance of success! Today, AACHENHEAD® Technology, thanks to its technical simulation of the human auditory apparatus, has set new horizons in this field. In marked contrast to conventional microphones, this technology makes it possible to record sound situations in a way analogous to how humans perceive them. The product range of HEAD acoustics is subdivided into systems for recording, analysis and playback of sound and vibrations. Besides an artificial head system, a number of other versatile multi-channel frontends are available for data acquisition. HEAD acoustics products are compatible with each other and can be combined into complete measurement chains. The necessary software can be easily installed and is very easy to use due to its intuitive user interface and online help. The combination of independent, yet perfectly combinable recording, analysis and playback systems provides an ideal tool for the examination of mechanical vibrations, for analyzing the sound quality of acoustic events and for product sound design. The individual systems must fulfill different requirements: The recording system must record a sound event as precisely as possible. With the analysis system, causes of sound characteristics can be determined and individual properties of acoustic signals can be isolated by means of filters.
